Applications and projects that have a high environmental and efficiency agenda usually need to go ‘the extra mile’ to achieve a projects sustainable objectives by using equipment and system designs that are very innovative.

However the downside with this approach is that these innovative systems can quite often be new to market and relatively unproven in operation.

However when it comes to achieving an efficient and sustainable refrigeration system a project specificer can take comfort that new and relatively unproven technology is definitely not required.

This was the case when Green Cooling were asked by leading designer and installation contractor CDS Willman to provide ideas and concepts with regard to the provision of a new cold storage facility that was required by the John Lewis Partnership.

The highest environmental and sustainable refrigeration standards needed to be achieved as part of the project requirement, but importantly the installed system had to deliver practical, risk free and reliable operation.

For this reason Green Cooling selected their ECO-INTEGRA Hydrocarbon Coldroom range from which to specify the required system.
This innovative and unique range of equipment delivers the highest levels of environmental standards by using a refrigeration system with an extremely low global warming potential of 3 (GWP-3) combined with a robust and practically efficient system design. The benefit to the sustainability criteria of this project is a reduction in GWP from 3,822 to 3, achieved by simply specifying a practical and efficient hydrocarbon system.

The system enabled John Lewis to achieve their environmental objectives with regard to the refrigeration element of the project in a practical manner by combining highly proven and reliable coldroom equipment with a design that completely matched the clients project demands.

From an operational perspective the ECO-INTEGRA range from Green Cooling prove to be extremely straightforward coldroom to specify. On this project the main food service contractor CDS Willman worked with Green Cooling’s design team to ensure that all project demands were achieved, budgetary requirements were met and that overall sustainability targets were achieved.
